National Mission for Mentoring (NMM)

National Mission for Mentoring will be operationalized by NCTE through creation of a large pool of outstanding senior/retired professional willing to provide mentoring to the ones seeking guidance and help. These potential mentors regardless of the age or position of the mentor and mentee will contribute towards realising 21st century developmental goals of our nation. The NMM underlines the importance of the short and long-term mentoring/professional support to teachers and teacher educators. It brings an opportunity to leverage cross learning amongst different individuals leading to their continuous professional development. Mentoring is a process for the informal/formal transmission of knowledge and the psychosocial support perceived by the recipient as relevant to work, career or professional development. A committee was formed to develop an implementation plan for rolling out NMM. Through initial meetings and discussions, a draft of the bluebook on mentoring has been developed. This draft of the bluebook is put up on NCTE website and MyGov portal on 3rd November 2021 for inviting suggestions/feedback from various stakeholders. Please click on the link given below to find the bluebook and send us your suggestions/feedback on abhimanyu.ncte@gov.in till 15th January 2022.
